Jon Elected to the AIA College of Fellows
- We are happy to announce that Jon Anderson has become FAIA! He has been elected as a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects and will receive a medal in Washington DC this May.

GOK Elementary Wins an AIA Albuquerque Award
- Georgia O'Keeffe Elementary has won an AIA Albuquerque Merit Award at the annual awards banquet. Everyone at our office worked hard on this project and we are proud it was recognized at this years awards ceremony.

JAA wins three AIA NM awards
- Our office is proud to announce receiving three design awards at the 2011 AIA New Mexico Design Awards. The projects include Georgia O'Keeffe Elementary, UNM George Pearl Hall (in association with Antoine Predock), and Aperture Center at Mesa Del Sol (in association with Antoine Predock).

Placita House wins an AIA Award
- The Placita House received an award this year at the annual American Institute of Architects Albuquerque Awards Banguet. The entire staff attended the event held at the Albuquerque Museum. Thanks to the jurors for choosing one of our projects for this award.

NACA wins an AIA award
- The design for the Native American Community Academy has just won a 2010 design award from the AIA Western Mountain Region for unbuilt work.

JAA presents to NACA Governing Council
- Jon and James presented the conceptual design to the Governing Council of the Native American Community Academy. Many thanks to all who attended and for the great comments and suggestions.

JAA joins Facebook
- JAA now has a facebook fan page. The page will allow us to keep our followers up to date on current happenings. Posts will include preliminary designs, photos of buildings currently under construction, as well as some of the day to day life her at JAA. Click here to follow us.

NACA conceptual design completed
- JAA recently completed the conceptual design for the new Native American Community Academy (NACA) here in Albuquerque. The project is located along the west escarpment near University Arena (The Pitt). The project is a public charter school for 6th to 12th grade native students from pueblos and tribes all over the country.

MDS Town Center published in ABQ Journal
- The recently completed Mesa Del Sol Town Center has an article written awarding the excellence of the design for this new sustainable community. This three story mixed use building places two stories of office lease space above a ground level of retail uses. The client wanted an iconic building that would set the stage for the beginning of the development and become the hub of social activity.

Schwartz Residence wins an AIA ABQ Honor Award
- The Schwartz Residence in El Paso, Texas received the prestigious honor award this year at the annual awards banquet. The entire staff attended the event held at the Albuquerque Museum. Thanks to the jurors for choosing one of our projects for this award.

Flyway View House wins an AIA NM Honor Award
- The Flyway View House in Albuquerque's North Valley took home one of the top awards at this years AIA New Mexico Awards Banquet. The house resides in a wildfowl habitat which is on a major migratory flyway hosting snow geese, sand hill cranes and the occasional endangered whooping crane. Designed to maximize views of the bird habitat and to take advantage of solar exposure and passive ventilation, the house hosts simple sustainable materials and the thoughtful use of glass to blend the indoor and outdoor living spaces.
